I did add a crocheted tab to the back of these socks to keep them from slipping down so much.

I used the tail that was left over from my cast-on to create the tab, but this isn’t necessary.

Starting at the BOR, I did a slip knot between the first two sts, on (or encompassing) the cast-on edge.
Then I did sc all around until I reached the other side of the sock and did just a slip knot through the last sts on the other side of the gusset.
Next, I did another line of sc, but starting from the first sc in the row below (skipping the slip knot) until I reached the other side.
Finally, I sc in the original slip knot and then did another slip knot to make it decline down nicely to the cast on edge.
Note: this did make the tab longer on the one side, but that didn’t bother me
