So far so good.
It was hard to get started because I found myself with more or less than the required stitches after starting the centre pattern. So I ripped back to the edging and started again. Certain stitches ALWAYS line up (like the s1, k2tog, psso) and that’s how I know if I have too many or too few on my needle. It also helps to know where your mistake is.
I.E. If I’ve finished one section of the pattern repeat in a row and i realize I’m not starting the sl1,k2tog, psso in the right place, I can look down on my previous rows and see where I went wrong.
I also use the nupp to help with that

It’s like having a check point, just pay attention where your stitches should end in accordance with other stitches below in the pattern.

The charts are so easy to follow. I really enjoy this pattern, it’s fun and gorgeous

So I realize that the yarn i’ve used is thicker than the yarn suggested. It’s fingering weight but I think I should have used lace weight?

Well we’ll see what it looks like after blocking tomorrow. :S

Sister’s birthday!!! I realize that using this yarn still looks really nice, but I think that buying a blocking cloth for my foam mats is a must for any new lace knitting I’ll be doing in the future. The peaks on either side aren’t very even. Hopefully she doesn’t notice …
oh well, I chalk this up to a great learning experience and I now want to make something lace for everyone I know :P
