I have wanted to make these for a while, so I was very happy when this KAL was announced! I love her cast-on method & plan on using it for most of my toe-up socks!

Since the peacock is my favorite bird, and they are flamboyant, I made a stylized pair of these socks based on my kal pic. I used glitzy yarn & beads, but my pics don’t really capture how pretty they are. The Red Heart Stardust yarn has metallic thread running throughout which makes it glitter yet the yarn is still soft and without any roughness. The beads are 3 different colors and 2 of the turquoise ones are silver-lined. Hopefully when I return home, I’ll be able to take better pics.

If I were to make these again, I would knit the blue yarn all the way up to the ankle (finish heel flap) & start the next color with the 1st beading round immediately after the heel flap. Just looks better to me after seeing them modeled by my granddaughter.

My 3 y/o granddaughter was so good while I was knitting these socks, and she wanted to model them for my project page, so I have included the pic with her wearing them. Everyone loved them so much, they thought I should knit her a pair as knee highs for this winter!

Using Daniela’s calculations, I had 47 rnds and she sd round up to
48 which means I need to make rows 1 - 24 twice (48 rounds) before starting gusset.
