This pattern could have used some serious tech-editing for consistency.

The instructions for connecting the two garter brim ends leave a lot to be desired. I finally found a photo on the designer’s project page that showed how one end of the brim folds under and up and over the top of the other end, “trapping” the fake-ties. Before seeing that photo I couldn’t make heads or tails of the joining instruction.
