Notes

Granny stripe throw to match the construction colors in my son’s room.

The color pattern counts down one color while another counts up:

AAABAABBABBBCBBCCBCCC

…and so forth. It’s actually easy when you are doing it, but hard to explain otherwise. See the “Earning My Cape” link for more details on the stripe pattern.

I love Knit Picks yarn--very high quality. It feels wonderful; very plush and soft. The bulky works up very quickly, and the Brava line colors are very bright. Perfect for a bright little boy’s room.

Border:

  1. A row of granny stripes/double clusters all the way around in blue
  2. A row of green DC
  3. A row of orange SC
  4. Last row is crab stitch/reverse SC in yellow.

I’ve changed my opinion about this yarn. It’s not my favorite. The ends fray and work their way out very easily. I’m really disappointed in the pilling/fuzzing of the yarn. The blanket already looks very worn, like I need to “shave” it down. I spent good money on this “high-quality” mail order acrylic yarn so that this blanket would last a long, long time. It may still do so, but it’ll look pretty shabby.
