Granny stripe blanket made following the Attic 24 pattern. It’s an easy pattern that works up really quickly. This yarn is a bit heavier, so the finished result is a nice warm blanket!

The color order is random. I generated a random patten using this website: http://www.biscuitsandjam.com/stripe_maker.php. It provided a base, and then I changed it up from there, following what I thought would look best.

The border is one strip of granny squares at the top of the blanket. Then I’m doing three rounds of border all the way around, with the final round being shell stitch.

I decided to add the line of granny squares at the top for visual interest about halfway through the project. I attached them with a slip stitch, and it worked out, but it would have been much easier to create the line of grannies and then use that as the base for starting the blanket. I used all different yarn: mix and match of colors that I liked best. I wanted to create a color jewel-box effect, and I am very pleased with the final result.

I made this for my mother’s 65 birthday next month. Now my husband - who actually really loves this blanket - wants me to make one exactly like this for his mother’s birthday!
