Yes, I jumped on the Caron Cake bandwagon. How can you not? I’ve been waiting forever for an affordable, quality wool-blend in beautiful colors. I grabbed these Friday at Michael’s, the very first week they came out. That night I experimented with a few different stitches. Ultimately I decided to do a diagonal granny stripe while holding two strands together.

Here is the mix of colors, starting from the beginning corner:

1. Bumbleberry and Gelato, for the first third of the blanket.
2. Bumbleberry and Blueberry Cheesecake for the blue section
3. Bumbleberry and Cherry Chip for the pink/red section

My only criticism of this yarn is that I wish the color changes were gradual. Instead they are rather abrupt. Some of them are like basically four different colors of yarn tied together into one big ball. I was disappointed when I realized there aren’t really any “transitions” between colors, so holding two strands together was my solution to that. I do love the final color effect. And the blanket itself is so soft and thick and warm!
