First, this is a great pattern, esp. good for beginners that want to knit something other than a garter stitch scarf and not comfortable with sizing a pattern to fit, etc., this is the one. It’s also a great travel knit, great for touch knitting and taking to the movies or to a meeting, when you don’t want anyone to know you are knitting quietly on your lap.

I loved Felted DK and used it many times but always knit it as a sport weight, more like 24 sts. to 4 inches. This pattern requires you to knit it at 20 sts. to 4 inches so the fabric is quite loose and fluid, excellent for this project. I loved it. Cannot wait to cast on for another, but think yarn choice here is crucial. I’m looking through my stash, it can’t be too bulky, what makes this work is the fabric is quite light. I may have to buy some more FTDK.
