I linked it to the pattern above because it was the closest, but this is what I did:

CO 2 sts
R1: kfb, k1 (3 sts)
R2: kfb, k2 (4 sts)
R3: kfb, k3 (5 sts)
R4: k2, yo, k to end (1 st inc)

Repeat R4 until you have 54 sts on needles or until the size you like.

Now you will start decreasing on the next row: k1, k2tog, yo, k2tog, k to end (1 st dec)

Repeat decrease row every row until you have 6 sts.

Next row: k2tog, k to end. (5 sts)
Next row: k2tog, k to end. (4 sts)
Next row: k2tog twice, (2 sts) then slip first at over second st and fasten off.

Can make two cloths per skein with a bit leftover.

Purchased the value pack called Citrus. Loved this yarn. Very easy on your hands.

For a blanket: Use any yarn and any firm gauge and increase until the desired size or until half your yarn is used, then start the decreases.
