Notes

I cast on 121 stitches to compensate for the lace weight on smaller needles. This gives me 5 repeats were the pattern repeats 4 times.

I knit left handed, so any asymmetric elements will be flipped.

Chart A
You will need to move any repeat markers on rows 5, 17, 21, 33, and 37.

If you are using Romi’s markers from the written, every time you do a 2 or 5 stitch bind off for this and all other charts, you should be left with 2 stitches in the garter stitch edge.

I did 9 repeats of rows 3-38, though I felt I could have done another.

Chart B-1
This chart is only used after you pick up the provisional CO to realign the edge lace mostly.
So that I have 2 less ends to bury at the end, I usually join the yarn for the second end as if I’m adding a new ball of yarn. In this case I used a Russian Join.
When I picked up from the provisional chain, I did not undo the crochet chain as I went. I left it in for a row or two after I started B-1. Then I un-zipped it.

Chart B
A stockinette field with the fancy edge.

When working this chart after you finish Chart A, you can leave in any repeat markers. You won’t need them in this chart, but they will be in place for Charts C and D.

Charts C and D
These are straight forward lace. No marker shifts or fancy decreases.
Chart D ends with the BO.

Yarn Usage
Start = 262.6 grams

I will be listing the charts in the order I knit them.
Chart A to r38:1 = 241.0 g left
2nd side Chart B-1 = 238.1 g
2nd side Chart B1 = 233.0 g
2nd side Chart B2 = 227.4 g
2nd side Chart C = 211.2 g
2nd side Chart D = 203.8 g
About 37.2 grams used for side 2
Chart A to 38:2 = 185.7 g
Chart A to 38:3 = 166.4 g
Chart A to 38:4 = 148.3 g
Chart A to 38:5 = 129.7 g
Chart A to 38:6 = 113.0 g
Chart A to 38:7 = 95.0 g
Chart A to 38:8 = 77.3 g
Chart A to 38:9 = 59.9 g
Chart A to end = 57.8 g
1st side Chart B1 = 52.0 g
1st side Chart B2 = 45.5 g
1st side Chart C = 31.2 g
1st side Chart D = 25.2 g

I used about 237.4 grams or about 1004.7 yards.

Blocking

I didn’t pin out the single in between double YOs. Only the bigger points.
It’s blocked to one big blocking mat wide, and 4 big blocking mats long.
I might have been able to get more width, but that would have meant adding a line of the smaller knit picks purple ones down the side, and filling the entire hall.

Once off the mats, it seems to have grown longer, but still looks nice and open.
