Notes

I was making a mobius cowl with alternating ridges of knit and purl, similar to the Wurm hat, when it occurred to me that my yarn would also be a great hat. Since I had accidently added two twists to the mobius, I frogged that and adapted from Wurm to make up this hat.

Changes: I did 12 rows of plain stockinette stitch at the beginning, but did not make the extra 12 rows with the purl row to fold under. I wanted it to roll up and it seems to be working.

I finished it as for Wurm, but I wanted more taper, like a stocking cap, so I took out the finish and reknit it with more gradual decreases scattered over more rows. The 4th/bottom photo with a squarer top shape, somewhat like a pillbox, was from following the pattern. The round circles was my next attempt. The last attempt came out more pointed like a stocking cap. It also needed a pompon to be a proper stocking cap! This boucle yarn was a bit uncooperative for pompons--it is two thick to tie tightly but was still a bit floppy and soft.
