Pattern is for an AG type 18” doll and I needed a newborn size, so I went up a hook size to an F. I crochet on the loose side, but tried to crochet a little more tightly for this project so the fabric would be stiff. I also added 7 rounds to the pattern.

Size F hook, Followed the pattern as written through round 13.
rnd 14: rpt rnd 13 (52)
rnd 15: increase to 56 stitches
rnd 16- 20: (56)
rnd 21: increase to 60 stitches
rnd 22- 24 (60)
rnd 25: as written for rnd 19 in pattern (90)
rnd 26-28: (90)
rnd 29: as written for rnd 22 in pattern (90)
rnd 30: (change to trim color) as written in pattern for rnd 23

Chain 60 with trim color for “braid” trim if desired.

This is an awesome pattern. Very easy to follow and modify for a larger size.
I am very pleased with the final product and hope my customer is, too! Flexible, but holds it’s shape well.
