I have made 2 squares. One as per the cedar River Blanket pattern in the C2C stitch, no border and one as per the stitch in the biased granny afghan. I am using an I hook and worsted yarn, both squares are approx. 9” without a border. Now I just need to decide which stitch to use. My daughter likes the diagonal granny stitch best.

3-28-16: Putting on hold till I finish a few WIPs and orders.

6-3-16: Returned to this project and changed a few things. Decided to go with the diagonal granny stripe (linked above) and the overall design of the Cedar River blanket (also linked above). Changed up some of my original colors a little as well as using wider stripes than the Cedar River Blanket pattern.

Each square is 3 rows color A, 3 rows color B, 3 rows color D, 5 rows color E, 3 rows color D, 3 rows color C, 3 rows color B, 3 rows color A for a total of 29 rows. (15 increasing rows and 14 decreasing rows).

I did not crochet a border on the individual squares. Going with a visible join in a contrasting color. Satisfied so far.To join squares, I am slip stitching in one square chain two slip stitch in other square, repeat all the way down. Creates a kind of zig-zag stitch that stands out, but lays flat.

6-16-16 One more row to go (6 squares), border and possibly fringe. For the border I plan on going around the blanket with the same slip stitch chain 2 I used for the join. I found ch 2 was a little tight on the border, so I went with ch 3 instead.

6-22-16 Finished! Added fringe to the ends and wove in the ends.(I used a clipboard to wrap the yarn for the fringe).
