I modified the pattern as follows: I am crocheting the even numbered rows into the back loop of the stitch two rows below and the front loop of the stitch in the previous row. The blanket is beautiful as per pattern, but I liked the texture of the way I modified it. (The pattern doesn’t actually tell you what stitch to crochet into for the even numbered rows. I had to figure out from the photos that the even numbered rows are crocheted into the stitch two rows down rather than the stitch of the previous row.)

10/14/17 I have gone through about 5 skeins so far and am estimating about 15 skeins to get to 40” to 42” inches wide.

10/21/17 Finished all but the fringe. 74 rows x 90 stitches measures 40” x 58” and used 13 skeins excluding fringe. I liked the size at this point, so stopped there. I will add the skein total after I finish the fringe. I timed four rows at 30 minutes, so this throw took about 9 hrs. to complete so far.
