This free pattern from KT and the Squid works up in about an hour for the adult size. (Maybe less- I was watching a t.v. program at the same time.) It is quick, easy, and fun to make. It begins with a foundation single crochet which oddly enough, I have never tried. She has a tutorial that explains the stitch very well. There is also a cool stitch in the pattern I had not heard of before, but it’s easy.
I only had 2 skeins of the reflective yarn in 2 different colors so I made the brim with the purple and used the grey for the rest of the hat. I had just enough grey to complete the hat with very little left over.
