Bought the kit from Lion Brand. Started the back panel. Much easier than it looks.

I worked the first 8 rows and it went very quickly. I noticed the written directions give the number of repeats in the row for the xs/s size, but not the m/l or xl/xxl sizes. Just add an extra repeat for the m/l and 2 extra repeats for the xl/xxl.

Instead of a long vest, I decided to make a swimsuit cover-up, pullover style. I made two of the back panel, 9 repeats each. I will seam them together up the sides and shoulders and add sleeves using the mesh stitch pattern of the front panels in the original pattern.

I am going to block the front and back panels before seaming.

6/14/19 Panels are blocked. I will decide to add sleeves or not after blocking.

8/18/19 Finally picked this up again. Starting sewing the side seams. I will then add sleeves.

8/25-28/19 Decided to make it a vest after all. Took out seams and added front panels, attached shoulders, and finished weaving in ends. Happy with the finished product.

I now have an extra back panel and just enough yarn to complete another vest. we’ll see if I I get around to completing a second one.
