This is my 2008 collection of charity scarves that I knitted for my church’s Mitten Tree. All of these handknit items will be given to our local Food Pantry to hand out to people near Christmas. Everything was done in a simple garter stitch, using various scrap yarns that were either donated by friends or found deeply discounted at thrift shops in my area.

I have 16 children-sized scarves, 27 adult-sized scarves and 2 cowls. Most of these counted toward the 60 Scarves in 60 Days challenge. However, I knitted past the November 30th deadline to reach a personal goal. The grand total was 45 scarves.

This was a way to jumpstart myself back into knitting. Now that I’ve knitted all this, I’m ready for bigger and better projects.
