I have been sucked in. Baby knitting is a disease. Much like the craving to bear children is a disease. Damn biological instinct! Oooo, that fwuffy bunny is just so widdle and cute! Sigh.

I knit the first few rows in the Magic Loop method because my DPNs are all short for that needle size. However, after wanting to stab myself with my Addis, and then fucking up royally because of the distracting looping method that took two hours to freaking knit just a few rows with, I frogged the whole damn thing and pulled out the DPNs. Now my fingers hurt from four hours of solid knitting (the same thing twice), but THANK GOD I am at the armhole split.

I just made my first armholes. They were incredibly easy. I feel like conquering the world, now. Though I do admit that the hardest part is yet to come - the endless stockinette stitch. Dun-dundun.

I just keep knitting and knitting and knitting, yet my ball of yarn never seems to shrink. If this goes on much longer this top is going to be a freaking dress! Which wouldn’t bother me, since that would look cute as well. :)

I had some minor laddering issues at first which were quickly fixed - I simply knit the first stitch of the next needle onto the previous one. It kept my stitches the same number and since it was stockinette all I was shifting were the stitches around the shirt. Worked fabulously, if I do say so myself.

I had sooo much extra yarn that I decided to make a 10-round ruffle, by kfb, k1 in two successive rows after my tee hit 12 inches. And…I still have too much yarn! It’s ridiculous, I’ve only used 275 yards at this point! I’m reduced to making a double-ruffle - I am making a second ruffle by picking up stitches underneath the first ruffle and knitting 10 rounds again. Hopefully that will solve the issue and I’ll finally use up all of my extra yarn. Hopefully. Dear Lord.

Also, I used the Magic Loop method for the ruffle bit, since it was kinda tight on my needles. It was still a pain in the arse, but less so this time because I had almost enough to make it all the way around the needles.

Annnnnnd finished. I’m quite proud of my first knit top, even though it won’t ever fit me. ;)
