Made as part of a Hugs of Support blanket for Sigris54. To get an 8 by 8 inch square, I cast on 36 stitches, and just mentally added one stitch to either end of each row as I read along (i.e., I saw knit 3, and knit 4 instead). Also I knit 49 rows instead of what the pattern calls for, doing an extra plain knit row before starting the seed stitch border near the end.

The brown and blue square was knit as a mirror image - I kept the seed stitch border the same but on the interior I reversed the design by starting at the end of the pattern with the last row and working backwards. It worked beautifully.
