Notes

I’m getting 12/13 wpi, which means I’m going to use a size 9 US needle, not the recommended size 6 US because that would be far too tight. I’ev tried a couple of sizes, and this seems to be the best fit. Additionally, since I like my scarves and cowls wide, I’m casting on 50 stitches instead of 30.

I’m finding the size 9 needles is still a little tight for this project. But I’ve gone too far to go back. It’s definitely only enough yarn for a cowl, and I’m going to keep knitting and hope it gets long enough to wrap around my neck. It’s only some pretty acrylic that cost me nothing, so I’m not going to torture myself by ripping it all out and starting over. Ugh.

I was going to make button holes, but after fighting with the yarn and pattern for a week I gave up and just decided to finish it buttonless. It’s long enough to work as a scarflette anyways, so I’m not worried. I thought buttons would just be cute - unfortunately, the So-Called scarf pattern makes the implementation of the buttonholes very difficult.

“Den Försvunna Staden” means “The Lost City” in Swedish, which is appropriate, as that is where my “Atlantis” yarn is from - Sweden. Feeding my addiction to the Stargate series yet again.
