Notes

I must be a masochist. After raging through this pattern the entire time I knit it (just over a week ago, mind you), I’m knitting it again. What is wrong with me?! In truth, it’s because I conquered it once using inferior yarn and needles (though the pattern told me to use sportweight). After following the pattern exactly and beating my head against a mental brick wall until I thought I might self-combust, I realized something. This pattern makes a really cute finished object.

In fact, I think this pattern might be akin to having a child - a lot of pain, misery, suffering, torment, screaming “why did I think this was a great idea?!” and then when it comes out you go all melty and inane over the cuteness of what you created. Stupid hormones. Stupid cuteness. Stupid pattern.

Returns to knitting one of her multitude of petals, resigned to her fate

It’s going much better now. Since I wasn’t blindly fumbling in the dark, but had a mental path to follow, I was actually able to concentrate on the wraps, and found and hid all but one. Now I’m making the I-cord, but it’s boring so I lost interest a bit. I’ll finish it this week, if only so I can photog it prettily in the sunlight.

P.S. - 15 ends to sew in is still a bitch-in-a-half.
