Notes

I LOVE this pattern. It is so well-written, so very clever, and I enjoyed it immensely.

No one else on the Internet had a good enough photo of the waters in the Bahamas so I used one of my own. My father in his snorkeling gear has been carefully cropped out of the image. Heh.

I just spent an hour or so knitting my first few stitches and being so proud of myself for doing it all perfectly. And then I looked at the pattern and realized I was using the wrong size knitting needle. Somebody shoot me.

Considering this is my first lace pattern, I am shocked at how easy it is! I thought it would be daunting or hard to follow, but it really isn’t. It’s turning out so beautiful too!

It took me over a month to get around to blocking it, and then it was super easy. Because rayon has weight, and I wanted a natural wavy look like water, I didn’t need pins or anything. Wet, lay flat, pat dry, voila!

I discovered a dropped stitch a few days after blocking it! Horrors! Luckily, the local LYS is amazing, and Michelle (pinkngreen), the owner, helped me out in a jiffy. Whew.
