Since our car needs a long time to get warm (it’s 12 years old with nearly 200.000,00 kms), I decided to knit a lap blanket from leftovers of Istex Einband.
Therefore the stripes are not quite the same as in the pattern, I used it as an inspiration.

The pattern is pretty simple, though I had about 1200 sts per round at the end.
The border was crocheted because I wanted to use up every single meter of the yarn. I had a small amount of 2.5m of the light green and 1m of the dark green.

Istex Einband is very itching at the beginning. So I boiled the finished piece for an hour after finishing. Now it has a soft smoothing feeling and the surface is more plushy.

In one of the pictures you may notice that the shape is a little distorted in the middle square. I blocked it after boiling and the blanket stretched from 1,40m in square to 1,50m in square.
