Basic pattern with one strand brown and one strand variegated green held together.

I like a lot how they feel, my toes are warm and happy due to the thicker double yarn now in the winter. I´ll make 2 more pairs, a package (4 balls) of each color will make 3 pairs of socks.

Pattern:

CO 56 sts.
K2p2 until work is 10 cm. Dec 4 sts. Knit 8 cm.

Make heel:
RS: k1, sl1pw* WS: purl x 14 times
26 sts
RS: sl1pw, k14, ssk, p1
WS: sl1pw, p3, p2tog, p1
RS: sl1pw, k4, ssk, p1
etc. until heel turned

Knit until piece is 14cm from the tip of the heel. Dec4. Knit 5cm more.

Make toe (dec4, 3rows, dec4, 2 rows, dec4, 1 row, 6 x dec4, graft toe).

Note: k=knit; p=purl; sl1pw=slip one purlwise; dec=decrease; ssk=slip,slip,knit; p2tog=purl two together;

Yarn:

• Plain and cheap, looks good and feels warm on my feet;
• (half year later:) I just throw the socks in the machine with my regular wash (40 - 60 C) and the dryer and they still look as brand new! Excellent wear and tear quality!
• this is not one of the ooh-so-soft-and-squishy qualities that your fingers fall in love with, but still OK with respect to itchiness (I have had worse and much worse as well).

I would certainly buy it again and recommend it for those who are more interested in a long-lasting end product rather than the thrill of the knitting itself.
