Using designs found in Japanese Knitting Stitch Bible by Hitomi Shida

…and Jessica’s pattern for a crocheted poncho, I’m creating knitted squares approx. 40sts x 40 rows. When I finish a square, I run a quick single crochet border around it w/a 6.5mm hook and bind off.

5/11/20 Working on the final square now. Still deciding on how I want to assemble the squares, then I will add a fancy border and a cowl neck. I’m not sure if those will be knitted as well or crocheted. Stay tuned…

Yay! Completed! Added a leaf border from the aforementioned Stitch Bible. Turned out larger and took more yarn than expected, but adds a beautiful drape and finished edge to the ‘sleeves.’ Didn’t quite use the entire final skein, but also didn’t have enough to do a doubled over, chunky cowl neck. Cowl started out as 2x2 ribbing when I felt the need to add some cables. Really impressed with how that part turned out. Still need to wash and block. Reversible! Two garments in one!

Added updated photos since first wash and block. This has become my daily snuggly. I throw it on every morning like a bathrobe and throw it over almost anything for a little added warmth around the house.
