Placed yarn order today from WEBS.
I chose Cascade Merino 220.
Contemplating if I should also combine it with mohair.

Decided to not hold my yarn with mohair due to gauge.
I’m using 3.5mm needles to knit worsted weight yarn!

Short rows on the shoulders went great.
The piping details in the back panel really make my heart sing.
March 7, 2023
Picked up stitches and started on the Right sleeve now.
Finished the piping details on the Right sleeve - I love it.
I have not finished the body yet but I got bored so I switched to the sleeves for now.
No feedback regarding the pattern yet - everything is very easy to understand.
March 12, 2023
Finished the body before the bottom shaping.
Finished right sleeves shaping.
Sent note in Test Group regarding clarifying the length of the sleeves prior to box pleat.
March 13, 2023
A bit of a hiccup on my part on knitting the box pleat because I was introduced to a 3-layer pleat. This pleat is 2-layer.
Found a tutorial on YouTube showing how to knit a 2-layer pleat.
Started on the right cuff.
March 14, 2023
Finished the right sleeve placket just to realize that the placket & the cuff don’t overlap on the same side (they are twisted).
Ripped back & changed the position of the buttonhole on the cuff. They look much better now.
Will send note to Test Group asking designer to maybe clarify: when pick up stitches for the packet - should we pick up stitches in front or back of the existing stitches to avoid this twist?
Finished the shaping for the left front panel on the body.
Picked up stitches to start the left button band (with no button holes).
Will send note to Test Group asking designer to clarify picking up stitches from where to where.

I took a break because my hands were tired
Picked up the project & started on the Right Button Band.
April 9, 2023
Finished the Right Button Band - many many ends to weave. No issues with the pattern.
Started picking up stitched around the collar.
April 19, 2023
I finished everything and weaved in all ends BUT part 2 of the collar.
I ran out of yarn! All 700g of them
I messaged a few ravelrers here to ask if I could purchase their left over - I think I need about 30g to finish collar part 2.

A stranger replied back and she’s sending yarn to me! I’m tagging her in this project page.
Thank you Linda!

I was able to finish the shacket and took photos by the deadline <3
Overall Feedback:
- testing was challenging but I truly think the main reason was because of the unfamiliar tight gauge.
- If I could change anything in the pattern: I’d make the sleeve’s box pleat be a 3-needle pleat (in-stead of 2). The 3-needle pleat is a bit more fidgeting with needles flying around everywhere when you knit it - but the result is nicer imo. I’ve made a few pleats this way and Lily Kate actually has video tutorial on how to do this pleat. Give it a try!
- The amount of ends to weave at the end was dizzy quite a bit. Any opportunity you have to not cut a yarn - take it! xD
- I like the construction of this shacket. I like the final fit. Highly recommend for advanced beginners - just know that due to the tight gauge, you will need to take many many breaks! (Unless you’re a tight knitter yourself :) then this should be an enjoyable knit).
