Fun project!
I went up a size (usually I knit XS from PetiteKnit but I want a loose fit so I made an S for this pattern).

I frogged a Lawrenson Sweater because this yarn is a DK and the sweater calls for a worsted weight yarn. Thought I could be sneaky but the drape of the fabric wasn’t nice. So there’s the yarn.
I played some dangerous yarn chicken here because the yarn is gifted to me from my hubby’s grandma - so the top is a tad bit cropped - but I’m seriously not mad at it.
I put the neck in as soon as I could.
I then finished the sleeves first.
By the end, I only had enough yarn to knit 5 rounds of ribbing for the body (pattern calls for 8 rounds) so I had to cut it short - no puns intended - but it doesn’t look too ridiculous.

Overall a joyful knit. I’m making a second one as a gift for a friend.
Highly recommended for beginners.

Updates after a year of having this top:

My absolute favorite. I wear it every chance I get. Fall/Spring/even some cool summer days.
The style is simple so it makes it very easy to throw on in any casual circumstance.

The yarn is wonderous. I love this yarn (well it’s a cashmere so that explains why). Just sad that it’s discontinued.

I already have some other yarn stashed up for another Poppy Top (or 2, or 5).
