Notes

Apr 26, 2022

  • Cast on. Yarn used is one that’s labeled sock yarn so I was hoping it would be about the same if not a bit thicker than the fingering weight.
  • Needle size 3.25 mm because I’m a loose knitter.
  • If I get a dollar for every gauge swatch, I’d start knitting gauge swatches sobface_palm::skin-tone-2
  • The back fabric knitted up nicely. The bigger needle size makes a rather drapey and airy fabric - which works out perfectly for this tank top.

I finished the back panel today.

  • picture added for measurement of the finished back piece.
  • I am a bit nervous because it looks tiny! But compared to the schematic, everything is correct. Trust the progress moment.

Tech edit:
- L shoulder front: first row of shaping should be RS (not WS).

May 3, 2022

Finished the upper front. I really like the neck line and the sport tank shape.
Will join the body now and knit a bit longer to take pictures.

May 6, 2022

Body is longer now.
Pictures added!

May 7, 2022

Finished neck, picture added.
What a difference a finish neck line makes!

Picking up and knitting the armholes.
Pictures added.

  • I tried the top on after the left armhole was finished. It wasn’t too tight, but the regular cast-off made it so that the portion under the armpit pulled (because it was tight) and it didn’t roll like I wanted it to.
  • I spot checked it with Lily’s pictures of the finished tank, and the armhole part under the armpit also did not roll. So I lied to myself and told myself that it’s okay.
  • and so I went on and finished the right armhole as well. See pictures.
  • while it is not insanely tight to the point that it’s uncomfortable, I really don’t like that it doesn’t roll!! sobsobsob
  • I’m going to frog it now and redo the cast off in a more stretchy method.

Tech edit:
- DDEC abbv. is missing.

May 9, 2022

I redid the stretchy cast off for the armholes - love it so much more and it fits way better now.
Finished the body; weaved in ends.
Ready to block.

Tech edit:
- Suggesting to add stretchy bind off as the recommendations to bind off around the arms.
