Beaded catching butterflies = catching dragonflies! :) Psst! I think you can see my mods ever so slightly more clearly in the third pic…

I love these so much that I’m making a second pair! They are such a practical item to have in one’s wardrobe :) The truth of this was shown when it started snowing in nearly the whole country after I’d finished these! O.o

I saw the beautiful Rowan Pure Wool 4-ply in Sage (and on sale!) and couldn’t resist ♥ Unfortunately the beautiful colour didn’t come across in any of my pics :(

Modifications
I have recently fallen in love with using beads in knitting (thanks entirely to the incredible Ice Queen pattern!) so I decided to make a few corresponding modifications to this adorable pattern ♥

I ‘added’ a column of beads in between the butterfly cable pattern to make little bodies…Due to the placement of the beads, I decided they were much more like dragonflies than butterflies! ♥

I used clear, foil-lined size 6/0 seed beads that are also being used on my Ice Queen. I used 3 beads for each dragonfly x 30 dragonflies per mitten = 180 beads in total. I made no adjustments to the stitch count to accommodate the beads, just changed the stitch pattern a little :)
