Used the starting instructions from the pattern but only knit 2 cm (cast on using Italian tubular cast on).
Inc round (K1, M1L, K16, M1R, K1) x2.
Knit 3 rounds.
(K20, CO 9) x2.
K20, (P1, K1) x4, P1, K20, (P1, K1) x4, P1.
Repeat the previous row.
Knit one round.
SSK, K16, K2TOG, K9, SSK, K16, K2TOG, K9.
Knit one round.
SSK, K14, K2TOG, K9, SSK, K14, K2TOG, K9.
Knit one round.
SSK, K12, K2TOG, K9, SSK, K12, K2TOG, K9.
SSK, K10, K2TOG, K9, SSK, K10, K2TOG, K9.
SSK, K8, K2TOG, K3, CDD, K3, SSK, K8, K2TOG, K3, CDD, K3.
K1, P1 rib for two rounds.
Bind off.

I will probably be knitting this again but with a shorter waistband and a longer stockinette section before the arms for a less cropped sweater. Also, potentially a version with added sleeves?
