Notes

I could not make up my mind on the color, so I let my man decide. He chose dark blue with a hint of royal blue, I’m very happy he did. I will be knitting this with partly new, partly secondhand (but unused and in mint condition) yarn.

Swatch 5.5mm - 23r x 17st, gauge is close enough. Making size L for oversized fit and gauge compensation.

PROJECT

  • 09.04.2024: Front yoke finished. I definitely do not like to knit colorwork on purl rows! I have no idea where to go with that second strand of yarn, it goes horribly slow and I feel like a total beginner again while I’m doing this see_no_evil Anyway, on to the back!
  • 03.01.2025: Finished the body after giving this project a rest. I don’t particularly enjoy working on this sweater, but I am determined to have it in my wardrobe.
  • 02.05.2025 This one has been in my WIP’s for over a year now. This is definitely a product knit because I don’t enjoy the process at all (not a problem with the pattern though, it’s a combination of things that I don’t particularly like in knitting: colorwork, working with multiple strands of yarn at a time, the bigger needle size, etc). I decided for myself to from this point on knit at least one pattern repeat a week, in order to get it out of my WIPs.
  • 11.06.2025 Done! Setting realistic goals for myself is definitely my key to finish things that are slacking. Now it needs a block and then it can go into my closet for next winter smiling_face_with_tear

I did not make any modifications.

For future reference: I skipped the mohair for working the Italian bind-off, this made it easier and is unnoticeable.

CONCLUSION

I’m very happy I persevered. The pattern is very clear, the shaping is brilliant and the sweater is beautiful. I did not enjoy making it but I also cannot wait to wear it.
