Vacation Knitting

Yarn:
2-ply (1 strand in blue & 1 strand in black) 100% cashmere from cone.
Yarn shop wound 3 strands of 2-ply together for me.

12/12/2014:
Will follow directions as written.
Did not do Gauge. Started at 12 pm (Ningbo, China time)
Set-up rows done
Tier 1 done
Tier 2, done through row 16
Add WIP pic
Tier 2 done.
Row 23, increase row to 153 sts
Row 24 - 151 sts

12/14/2014:
Note: for Tier 2, I had placed markers to the left of 1st, 3rd and 5th CDD column to denote repeat section. As you work 1st RS row of Tier 3, you will need to reposition markers to the right of 1st, 3rd and 5th CDD column to denote repeat section and to coincide stitch count on WIP to chart. As well throughout Tier 3, you will need to keep repositioning markers.

12/19/2014:
Have not worked on this for 5 days :( been busy getting house ready for house guest from NY, prepping for our Christmas dinner before we head off for the holidays, and prepping for holiday trip to Macau and Sanya Island tomorrow, and working on large gauge for Arielle’s sweater. Hopefully I’ll have everything done so I can get back to knitting, goal is to finish Tier 3 and add life line so I can have the rest to do as vacation knitting.

12/24/2014:
No time to do any knitting in Macau or in Hong Kong. Surprised the kids to trip to Disneyland in Hong Kong (haha, they thought we were going to a Chinese Opera). Finally had down time on Sanya island, had to wake up 6:30 am to see sunrise and do some knitting. Finally finished Tier 3.

12/25/2015:
Row 47, increase row to 297 sts - done
Row 48 - 295 sts - done
Edging (25 rows) - do Row 1 & 2 a total of 12x, then do
Row 1 again - done through 8th repeat of R1&2, have 9
more rows to do.

12/28/2015:
Edging done - decided to increase number of repeats for
edging did R1&2 a total of 15x, then did Row 1
again.
Lower Border done
BO done
Knitting done night before leaving Macau for Cebu.

yarn amount:
Began with 109 grams
Used 95 grams
14 grams remaining

12/29/2014:
Pre-block pics added

Pre-block measurements:
44” length (at CO edge) x 20” depth (at center spine)

Weave ends on ferry ride from Macau to Hong Kong, very rough waters, avoided looking out window or else I would have gotten sick :(

1/5/2015:
Blocking - washed in warm water with baby shampoo & a little vinegar. Pinned Out to: 58”L x 24”D
Blocking Pic added

1/6/2015:
Post block measurements:
58” Length (at CO edge) x 24” Depth (at center spine)

1/9/2015:
Post block measurements after several days of use:
55” Length (at CO edge) x 20” Depth (at center spine)
Post block pic to be added

Corrections:

Set-up row 16 (WS): it should be:…p to last 3 sts, k3.

Tier 2 chart: last st of Row 13 should be ssk

Tier 3 chart: The pattern will flow better if omit row 1 of chart and start on row 2 as first RS row (last row of chart, purl row, will now be row 46). This change will make row 47 of written instructions make more sense.

Tier 3 chart: Also, the column of CDD within the repeat section right below the title “tier 3”, visually the k2tog is an error, it should be CDD (row 22 as displayed on chart or row 21 after correction above via omission of row 1).
