My changes/additions;

TRUNK
I am modifying the trunk using a love heart for the end - pattern link above….I used love heart ‘A’.

Alternate trunk with love heart end;
Sew two ‘A’ love hearts together, set aside.
Ch 22 and join with a sl st – stitch starting chain around the outside of the heart.
Rnd 1: Work 1 rnd sc (22)
Rnd 2: dec over each 3rd & 4th sc, 1sc in 2 remaining sc (18)
Rnd 3: dec over each 5th & 6th sc (15)
then continue ‘TRUNK’ pattern from ‘Rnd 5’.

FEET
I could not find any yarn even closely resembling a light or dark orange……just orange! So I’ve gone with a dark yellow with the orange - looks close enough!

JACKET
Not sure if I’m colour-blind, but Bing Bong in the movies and pictures that I Googled - his jacket looks like a grey tweed style pattern to me. I worked his jacket in a dark grey and a medium grey (in place of the brown in the pattern) and worked a check pattern.

To get the checked pattern, I worked (2sc dark grey, 2sc med grey) for two rows, then two rows of the alternate check - 2sc med grey on top of previous dark grey and 2sc dk grey on top of previous med grey. Same for the sleeves.
I finished off the jacket by working a round of reverse single crochet around the outer edge instead of standard single crochet.

BOWTIE
I crocheted two of the main part of the bowtie and sewed them together to give it more stiffness.

FLOWER
I crocheted my flower using the ‘E’ flower pattern and a 2.5mm hook - adding an extra petal….so starting with 6sc. Pattern link above. Added a green button to the centre.

HAT
I also worked Bing Bong’s hat in dark grey and medium grey.

EYES
I decided to crochet Bing Bong’s eyes….
(Make 2)
(Using white yarn and 3.5mm hook)
Chain4,
2sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1sc in next st, 3sc in last ch, turn and work along the other side of starting chains, 1sc in ea of next 2ch, sl st to join. (8)
Ch1, 2sc in same st, 1sc in each of next 2sts, 2sc in each of next 3 sts, 1sc in ea of next 2sts, 2sc in last st, sl st to join, finish off. (14)
(Using green and 2.5mm hook)
Work 10sc in a magic ring, sl st to join.
(Using black and 2.5mm hook)
Work 3sc in a magic ring.

TAIL
I made his tail as written in the pattern with plain acrylic yarn. I then worked around the finished tail with light purple and dark purple eyelash yarn (surface crochet) to get Bing Bong’s fluffy cat tail.
