(I used 8ply yarn)
2.5mm hook.
Ch21
First scoop
Rnd 1: 1sc in ea st around.
Rnd 2: (2sc, inc) around.
Rnd 3: (3sc, inc) around.
Rnds 4, 5 & 6: 1sc in each st around.
Rnd 7: (3sc, dec) around.
Rnd 8: (2sc, dec) around.
Rnd 9: (1sc, dec) around - do not cut yarn.
Second scoop
Rnd 10: (1sc, inc) around.
Rnd 11:(2sc, inc) around.
Rnds 12, 13 & 14: 1sc in each st around.
Rnd 15: (2sc, dec) around.
Rnd 16: (1sc, dec) around.
Rnd 17: dec around - do not cut yarn.
Third scoop
Rnd 18: inc around.
Rnd 19: (1sc, inc) around.
Rnds 20 & 21: 1sc in each st around.
Rnd 22: (1sc, dec) around.
Rnd 23: dec around.
Rnd 24: dec around, 1sc in last st.
Tip
1ch, 1sc, 1ch, 2dc, finish off.
I wanted McDonalds style cones, so I made up my own;
Cone
Tan yarn, 2.5mm hook.
6sc in a magic ring.
Rnd 1: inc around.
Rnd 2: (1sc, inc) around.
Rnd 3: (2sc, inc) around.
Rnd 4: 1sc around – back loops only.
Rnds 5-9: sc around.
Rnd 10: inc in first st, sc to end.
Rnds 11-15: sc around.
Rnd 16: (1sc, inc) around – front loops only.
Rnd 17: sc around – back loops only.
Rnds 18 – 20: inc in 1st st, the sc around.
Sl st into next st, ch1, then rev sc around top of cone, finish off.
Go down to loops on side of cone and work a row of sl st 9 (work r-l) around these sts, finish off.
Optional ‘Flake’ chocolate;
In a magic ring, 1ch, 2sc, (1ch, 2sc) x3, 1ch, sl st to join.
Make 2 end squares.
Ch9, 1sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1sc in next 7. (8)
Row 2: sc to end, ch1, turn.
Row 3: front loops only - sc to end, ch1, turn.
Rows 4, 5: sc to end, ch1, turn.
Row 6: back loops only - sc to end, ch1, turn.
Rows 7, 8: sc to end, ch1, turn.
Row 9: front loops only - sc to end, ch1, turn.
Row 10: sc to end.
Sew a square to one end, stuff and sew other square onto other end. I stitched through the log to make it more square, sew to ice cream.
’Choc Top’ ice creams always look a little bit bigger than a normal ice cream…..so I just worked the ice cream section in brown using a 3.5mm hook to make it slightly bigger. I sewed it to the cone, then made a few stitches of white between the ice cream and the cone to give the impression of ice cream being underneath.
