Notes

Crochet pieces over a paper mache base ‘skeleton’.
Pieces mainly worked in (US) hdc.
Windows and doors in sc.
Window frames are fdsc.

To make wall panels - chain until your chain matches the width of the wall that you’re trying to cover and work in hdc until your piece is as big as the wall that you’re trying to cover. Pin it to the wall until your pieces are all done, then sew them together and to/through the walls.
Roof and scalloped wall pieces - I worked hdc in back loops only, the went back over the finished piece and worked the shells into the front loops. Once the panels were attached to the walls, I went along each row and secured each shell in position (they tend to curl up!).

Hose reel - I worked an I-cord using embroidery thread and 1.25mm hook. Sewed an empty sticky-tape reel to the wall and wound the hose around that. I covered the front with a basic circle - last round in brown with 4 evenly spaced long sc’s into the middle of the circle to form the hose reel pattern. The handle is made up of a few chains stitched in place.

The balloons are sewn around a paper mache balloon on a thick cardboard tube - this then gets inserted into the chimney (they are removable). I also secured a tin can inside the house to hold the base of the balloon structure to stop it from leaning over too far.
Roof is not connected to the main structure, but it fits and sits very snuggly on top.

All windows, doors and other embellishments are sewn on after all panels are connected to the house - this keeps it all nice and flat. :)

Verandah/porch posts are chopsticks.

Big scallops/shells (3dc, 1tr, 3dc).
Small scallops/shells (5dc).

Frame corners….foundation single crochet, 1ch, 1hdc into base of last fdsc, carry on with fdsc to next corner, repeat from.

Corner square embellishments on doors;
In a magic ring work (1sc, 1ch) x 4.
