I did my first cuff accidentally in stockinette stitch and I like it so kept it that way.

I have a hard time reading patterns (or directions to anything), and need to learn by seeing and doing, so here’s what I used for the thumb to eliminate the holes:

For my next pair, I think I will do a stocking stitch on every edge for a rolled look. There’s something about the garter bind off that I have just never been too fond of.
