I followed the pattern through to the waist, using DK and 3.25 mm needles to make it fit a smaller baby.

However, given the fiddliness of doing the 2-colour ribbing (and the fact that it isn’t exactly like the top of a dalek), I altered the top section to reflect how I think a dalek looks.

Once again, I put buttonholes in the straps at two places so that it will fit the baby as she grows and I added some length between the top level of bobbles and the waist to make the dress a bit longer.
