This is the on-going project that I lead at my church to provide blankets for the homeless folks in our community. We are an urban church, so often our homeless neighbours are living on the church steps. These blankets are donated to the House of Mercy, which distributes them to those who need them.
There are 10-12 friends at church who make 5” squares, bit knitted & crocheted, & Kitty, Jillian, & I crochet the squares together into blankets.

Carole took 5 blankets to House of Mercy today. All seven blankets we’ve made so far this year have been donated!

Due to COVID-19 the House of Mercy stopped taking donations in mid-March.
The blankets are now being donated to a group of medics that are using our church as a treatment/triage centre for people injured in the BLM protests that have escalated since the killing of Daniel Prude by the Rochester Police Department was announced.
Blanket #8 finished today, joined & edged with peach.

Charlie has taken 4 blankets, #8-11, to church today for the medics.
