I modified this pattern a lot. Really, I just used it as a starting point, using the needles and weight of yarn suggested and number of stitches, but switched from ribbed to stockinette, lengthened the arm and gave increases to go up above the elbow as per request by Malcolm. Then, I added the detail of a ribbed edge beginning with a purled round.
