I made this pattern based on a request for a scarf that looked like life totals at the top left corner of a video game, specifically Zelda. So I drew out a graph for a heart with a two-stitch-wide edge to make using intarsia method. I have never written a pattern so just took a photo of my hand-drawn graph. Each square is 26 stitches wide and 24 stitches tall. Each square is two squares thick. The heart squares each have a plain back square. I made 2 sets of hearts and each side have the hearts on the left side. (So both sides of the scarf look the same and each have 3 hearts that are 2 1/2 full).In the middle is 3 two-sided plain squares for a total length of 9 squares. I sewed the squares together and then crocheted a scalloped edge.
