Notes

06/20/2011 - Cast on last night. Very simple cowl. I think it is only a workable wrap/shawl on size 2 individuals though. We will see when I finish - but I am thinking it will not fit around my plus sized shoulders.

06/23/2011 - Frogged this last night. It was crazy small - Like it wouldn’t fit my tiny niece small. Re-cast on with size 15 24” circular needles and cast on 60 rather than 56. Much more stretch and it’s looking good so far. We will see how many rows I get! :)

Later Just bound this off and sewed in the ends. It’s still too small to be a wrap - but I really like it as a cowl. The lace lines throughout the pattern are neat fold points for the cowl to lay nicely.

If I made this again and wanted it to be a wrap I think I would check gauge and alter based on that and the measurement of my shoulders upper arms. I suspect that would involve a second hank of yarn making this cowl cost closer to $35 - $40 dollars - so that is unlikely.

The modifications I made were to knit 60 stitches rather than 56 and I went up to a 15 needle rather than the 13. When I got to the last row I kept going for an additional 4 rows and then bound off. Still had about 8 yards wool left over.

Nice Pattern. Simple stash buster and instant gift quality. Will be keeping this around.
