I was taken by surprise when being asked to be a test knitter for Arlene Lace. She’s designed a scarf and a stole, and wanted someone to give her pattern a test drive. After some consideration I agreed – I have to admit my curiosity got the better of me!

The scarf is knitted with Wollmeise 100% superwash. When I was finished knitting I was quite anxious about the size, because it seemed _really_ small. But, with a lace pattern it’s easy to block it to the right size – the stretchability means it’s important not being tempted to knit it too large.

I love the look of the scarf. It’s supposed to go with both fancy dress and casual outfits, but I wouldn’t know how to wear it with denim. I would imagine it to be gorgeous with a black party dress!
