090829 update: reworked doll (not clothing or kerchief) for fair entry, as original was well-traveled and showed it :) Head ended up a bit smaller, but took a 1st prize in the novice crochet category. Made me happy, as I can never enter that one again.

I looked to several patterns for inspiration…

The E hook I used is older Boye, so it’s much smaller than a newer one of same size I purchased recently. Maybe in line with a C?

This doll was made for my daughter to put in her paint can for Sakura Con… to match her outfit. Didn’t have time to add the light pink stripes, as seen on skirt in background.

This is my first attempt with this hair styling… character may or may not have hair anyhow, as she is always seen with scarf on head.

Random mystery blue and green baby yarns also. I’m discovering it’s difficult to find desired colors in yarn size I choose for projects.
