This LL yarn was available at one of my LYS’s, so I went with it instead. I hope I won’t be sorry for choosing something tonal rather than multi. PLUS, it’s got multiple tones of blue, like Matthew Crawley’s eyes, so that’s a plus.
I got gauge with 3’s, hurrah!
1/6/2013:
Got through the first day’s instructions for both left and right gloves. Happy with the yarn!
1/7/2013:
Decided to do an additional repeat of lace panel to lengthen it. I’ll rip back if the subsequent directions make this a poor idea.
1/13/2013:
Finished Clue #2 on right gauntlet. Measures approximately 10” in length and fits nicely over my palm and thumb. Loving it!
1/22/2013:
For Clue #3 on the hand portion I knit 6 rounds. I then switched to size 2 (2.75 mm) needles and did 2.75 repeats of the Bee Stitch pattern, ending on a purl row. My bind off method was the EZ sewn bind off.
For the thumbs, also knitted a total of six rounds after picking up stitches again, and then 2.75 repeats of Bee Stitch followed by EZ sewn bindoff.
Note: I got the brilliant Bee Stitch idea from Mizoodle’s post here.
1/27/2013:
Finished the cuff lace edging. Very pretty and I love the length on my longish arms. Just need to dust off a ball gown and find an opera to attend!
