9 Aug: cast on this evening, having read quite a few sets of notes (book marked). Used cottonandcloud’s crochet provisional cast on tutorial from YouTube.

26 Aug: machine reinforced the steek before cutting this morning. Very pleased with the results. Had only 4g of Spring Storm remaining before picking up for the edging. Managed 4 rows before switching to Man of Rock, which blends in pretty seamlessly. First bind off was far, far too tight, so had to rip back, and ended up finishing the edging in Lilian, which looks nicer than I thought it might. To make it loose enough, I bound off k1k1, slip both sts back to LH needle, k2togtbl, k1, repeat from to end. It is good and stretchy, and looks nice. Went through the button collection and found 10 pale pink buttons, which complement the tones in Spring Storm.
