STASH BUSTER!
My gauge was right on target for the stitch count, but (as usual) I am off on the row count. Looks like I will have to add about one extra row for every 1” of length on the sleeves and body.

05-08-2019

Got as far as the pattern required before separating sleeves from front/back for body; added 8 rows w/o increases as pattern recommended to get to target yoke length of 10.5”

Finally separating the sleeves from the body. Have used @ 25% of my yarn already! I think I’ll finish the 3rd skein on the body, then knit both sleeves - to be sure I have enough yarn for long sleeves and then decide the body length.

Ripped it all out and started over. The body size was way too large, and I had over adjusted the length of the raglan sleeve armhole length. It just wasn’t working.
And I wasn’t happy with the shape of the neckline - I’m more comfortable with at least a slightly lowered front neckline.
So, the restart: used long tail cast-on this time and created a rolled stockinette neck edge instead of ribbing. Then added 3 pairs of German short rows at 5 stitch intervals on every other row starting at the raglan sides of the front neckline to get it lowered a little. Looks good several rows past that point now and back into the design pattern plan for the yoke. Need to watch armhole length and then the width of the body this time.

Back on track with this sweater now. I’m once again at the end of the yoke increases and doing some straight knitting for a few rows. I like to look and feel of the rolled neckband and the short rows I added on each side of the front. Because the short rows were not worked in the round, I have some irregularity in stitch size because of my purl rows (should have used a smaller needle for the purl rows!) - but hopefully that will block out.

05-18-2019

Decided to make body length 14” from underarm which is similar to length I like on another sweater I knit. So knit stockinette on #8 needles for 11.5” and then add 2.5” of ribbing on #6 needles, knit 1 thru back loop, and purl 1.

Body done - on to the sleeves, 2aat in the round smiley

Doing the sleeve cuffs! Need to try on one more time to be sure I get the ribbing to a good arm length

Now that it’s blocked - I am officially in love with this sweater and this yarn!
