I used yarn from a frogged project. This beautiful shawl pattern was perfect to give new life to the Kauni yarn.
The yarn came as a giant skein - 1925 yards (1750m) per 250g skein. I used ca 77 g.
The pattern was mindfulness and easy to memorize.
A note about reading the charts: WYSIWYK - what you see is what you knit.
During the knitting, I had the errata in mind, found in the Ravelry group “Romi´s studio”, project thread for “Knitting by the pool”:
-Row 39 There is an extra M1 after the center K7. Pattern reads “K7, M1, M1, K4 9 times” The highlighted M1’ should not be there. Should read “K7, M1, K4 9 times”
-Rows marked with a star, located to the right of the row numbers on each of the charts:
--(Chart A is OK)
--Chart B: Row 17 should have a star.
--Chart C: Row 17 should have a star.
-Row 19, written instructions: k1tbl 3 times, ssk, k1, YO 2 times, k3, sk2p,…*
My comments:
-In the abbreviations a cable needle is required for the t2l; but it’s not listed in the material list. Instead of using a cable needle for the twisted stitch, I would prefer a description for the t2l without a cable needle. (Something like this: Knit 2nd st through back loop without sliding st off left hand needle. Knit 1st st through front loop, then slide both sts off left hand needle.)
-Key to chart: The k2tog tbl is not used in the chart. It’s only used in the descriptions for the bind off, not as a sign.
Notes about how the stitch markers will shift (“star” rows):
Chart A:
Row 7: move M 1 st to the left
Row 15: move M 1 st to the right
Chart B:
Row 1: move M 2 sts to the left
Row 9: move M 2 sts to the right
Row 17: move M 2 sts to the left
Chart C:
Row 1: move M 2 sts to the right
Row 9: move M 3 sts to the left
Row 17: move M 3 sts to the right
My finished shawl, weight: 77 gram.
