Notes

It’s a lovely amigurumi. But it took some time to understand the pattern, because there is no abbreviation key. Some of the symbols are described in one other of designer’s patterns, some are not. After doing some research, I found out that the pattern is written in XVA form, common in Asia.
Most of the abbreviations are found here (they are actually more symbols than abbreviations):
https://amigurumipianosound.blogspot.com/p/free-pattern.h...

Some of the more advanced abbreviations in US terms:
T = half double crochet (hdc)
F = double crochet (dc)
E = treble crochet (tr), not listed in link above.

Another site where the asian way to write patterns is described (with more abbreviations):
https://guichai-dolls.wixsite.com/guichaidolls/single-pos...

I found some errors in the pattern :

  • Legs: After rnd 7, the leg is finished. The following lines (IV.TAY, 1-13) should be deleted.
  • Ears: Rnd 3 should be: (XV) ^ 6 (= 18 sts)
  • Rnd 4 = 24 sts;
  • Rnd 5-6 are not described. I didn’t work these two rnds. For larger ears, you could try working 2 rnds even (24X).
  • Rnd 7 = 30 sts
  • Leaves: should be (…2E, skip 3 sts, sl st in 4th st) - continue to end.

Tips:
- Use invisible decreases. Description here:
https://www.allaboutami.com/invisibledecrease

  • Work in continuous rnds (spiral)
  • End last rnd with a slip stitch
  • Before seaming: pull the end thread through sts of last rnd (not the ears, but all other parts)

The crocheted nose is my own design.
Here is the pattern, © Sylke Feldhusen 2020. US terms:

1) Ch 11, sl st in 6th from hook; sl st in next 2 ch. Ch 2, skip 2 ch, sl st in beginning st of rnd.
2) 7 sc in ch-space; 2 dc around the 2 ch between the chain rings. 13 sc in next ch-space; 2 dc between the dcs on other side (place the hook into middle of work); 6 sc in last ch-space.
3) sc in all sts = 30 sts
4) sl st in back loops only
- Seaming: catch back loops of last rnd only (the sl sts).

I also worked a tail. Ch 20, 19 sc. Roll a bit at the end when seaming.

Embroidery: see notes under the schematic picture.
