Horrible crappy slapdash blocking! I was having a major battle between the two stitch patterns. Pinning the lace section out properly didn’t let the top edge stretch out very well, so I just pinned the top bit quickly so I could get a good look at the lace. Blocking wasn’t very intuitive with this like it has been with other lacework - it took FOREVER pinning and re-pinning just to get the bottom half into a photographable state.

Is the pointy bit at the neck supposed to be like that?! (I expect NOT.) I love the lace section, but if I make it again I wonder if some other semi-circle beginning might work better to make the top edge lie straight more easily. It’s a great pattern otherwise, really clear and quick to knit, and I like the way the lace pattern grows out of the top section almost like fringe. Just, uugghh. That weird top edge. Shudder.
