First of all: THIS IS A VERY BADLY-WRITTEN PATTERN. Missing instructions, wrong stitch counts, rubbish pictures. I managed to bodge through and figure things out (except the crochet bind off which made no sense at all - ended up going with the normal p2, slip back to ln, p2tog one I always use) but if you’re a bit unsure of your bodging skillz and you’re after a paint-by-numbers pattern then AVOID!

That said, it’s a great shape (although a bastard to block!) - it stays in place really well and it’s all ruffly and lovely where you fling the narrow end in front of the wider end. The yarn’s a liiiittle bit scratchy and splitty but the colours were too good to pass up. I had a bit of a cold sweats moment when I was casting off cos I had hardly any yarn yet but just managed to scrape it with about 9 inches to go! RESULT.

Birthday present for Alison - I’m making more for Christmas presents because I love the shape, but I’m so grumpy with how un-user-friendly the pattern is that I’m not going to follow it again. I’ll probably work the skewy triangle shape thing (does that shape even have a name??) up to the right stitch count to substitute another edging. Haruni’s would be great, I just have to try and visualise how it’d look going round the corner…

I wish I had better photos of this, my camera is broken and my phone takes crap pictures! The colours aren’t represented very well in either picture, but the daylight one is closest (a bit brighter than in RL).
